Electronic Shelf Label
An electronic price tag is an electronic display device with information sending and receiving functions. It is mainly used in electronic labels that display price information in supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, etc. Electronic display devices used on shelves that can replace traditional paper price tags. Each electronic shelf label is connected to the store’s computer database through a wired or wireless network, and displays the latest product information through the screen on the electronic shelf label. Electronic shelf labels actually successfully integrate the shelves into the computer program, getting rid of the manual replacement of price tags and achieving price consistency between the checkout counter and the shelves.

Major Partners
Component
Our system consists of three parts: hardware, software and accessories. The hardware includes electronic price tags and Bluetooth switch (some can be equipped with a separate PDA), the software includes a cloud platform, and accessories include table pendulums, guide rails, brackets, ice plugs, and lanyards; different installation accessories can be used in different scenarios.
Working Principle
The implementation principle of the electronic price tag solution can be divided into two stages.
In the first stage, the ESL card is initialized, the price tag is registered in the ESL management system, and the price tag ID and product code are associated.
In the second stage, the electronic price tag information is updated.
In most cases, stores update their price tags after they cease operations to prevent the updated price tags from interfering with the normal business of the mall and causing unnecessary customer complaints. It is rare to update price tags during business operations. Even if such a situation occurs, it is in relatively small stores, such as bakeries. The number of electronic price tags is often within a few dozen, and the amount of business data is very small. It is not necessary to update electronic price tags. The time is short and the interference time is short.
Electronic Price Tag System

Advantages
Efficiency
Improvement
Electronic price tags simplify the complex workflow of traditional paper price tags that required manual application, price adjustment, printing, and replacement at the front of the shelf. After choosing electronic price tags, merchants can change prices with one click, whether it is thousands of SKU or tens of thousands of SKU, they can quickly change prices. E-paper consumes very little power and can be used normally for a long time.
Screen
Customization
We can understand the electronic price tag as a screen, just like an ordinary retailer supermarket. The content of the paper price tag is displayed through printing. By applying electronic price tags, you can customize the price tag screen content and a series of content such as member prices, promotional prices, coupons, graphics, and QR codes can be displayed.
Multiple
Scene Applied
Electronic price tags can be flexibly used in complex situation. For example, electronic price tags are low-temperature resistant and waterproof. They can be installed in a low-temperature cabinet at minus 20 degrees, or can be placed directly in some aquatic products and seafood areas. In addition, in supermarkets, there will be some trucks, shopping carts and forklifts loading goods, which will collide with the price tags. We will add anti-collision shells to the electronic price tags to protect the products.
Features
Thin Structure and Light Weight
Electronic price tags usually use thin panel technology to make their overall thickness thinner. Generally, the thickness of the product is about 13mm and the weight is between 30-150g. This helps ensure they don’t take up too much space and can be easily mounted on shelves or hung on the wall. In order to reduce weight, electronic price tags are often made of lightweight materials, such as plastic or alloy. This makes them easier to hang on shelves or display with merchandise without placing too much burden on the supporting structure.
Extremely Low Power Consumption, Long-term Standby
Electronic price tags usually take low-power display technology. This display technology only consumes power when refreshing and basically consumes no electricity in the static display state, which helps reduce electricity consumption and extend standby time. If the electronic price tag is refreshed about 5 times a day, the standby time of the electronic price tag will be more than 5 years.
Wireless Connection, Easy Installation
Electronic price tags generally use wireless communication standards, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. This allows them to easily connect with base stations or management systems for real-time data synchronization.

Analysis on the Development Prospects of Electronic Price Tags
The Construction of Retail Digitalization is Accelerated to Promote the Development of the Industry
In recent years, digital economy and retail digitization have become important components of national strategic development. At the same time, supply-side and retail-side reforms and demand-side upgrades have continued to deepen, new retail has grown rapidly.Internet of Things technology has rapidly become popular in offline stores, and comprehensive digitalization has become an important direction for the development of the new retail industry. Electronic price tags and self-service cash registers are playing an increasingly important role in the new contactless shopping model in offline stores. The acceleration of retail digital construction has brought more development opportunities to the industry.
Rising Labor Costs Expand Industry Demand
The aging of the population and the reduction of the labor force have led to increased labor costs, leading retailers to increase investment in offline stores. Electronic price tags, smart sensors, and self-service cash registers can effectively replace labor investment, save retailers’ operating costs and improve store operating efficiency, which conforms to industry development trends.
Technological Progress Drives Rapid Improvements in Industry System Performance
In recent years, display screens and communication technologies have continued to advance, driving electronic price tag systems to achieve performance improvements and richer functions. For example, the optimization of display screens has led to improvements in display effects, and the display effect of electronic paper screens has increased from black and white to black, white and red. Currently, it supports four-color and N-Color technology, and the display effect and customer experience have been significantly improved. At the same time, advances in communication technology have also enabled electronic price tag equipment to have various functions such as quick lighting and positioning.
In the future, electronic price tags will definitely become more and more popular and penetrate into all aspects of people’s lives.
